Welcome to the Media Center

Mrs. Neal: Library Media Specialist

Mrs. Jones: Library Media Aide

Welcome to the Midtown Library Media Center Page! We are so glad you are here!

More than just a place to check out books, the library is designed to inspire curiosity, exploration, and a love of learning in every student.

Students are welcome to visit the library throughout the school day to check out books and explore their interests. Kindergarten students may check out one book at a time, while students in first through fifth grade may check out two books. The media center also partners collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide lessons and learning experiences connected to curriculum goals, technology skills, digital literacy, and student interests.

Mission & Vision

  • The Midtown Media Center strives to create a welcoming and engaging environment where every student is inspired to explore, create, collaborate, and grow. Through literacy, technology integration, innovation, and meaningful learning experiences, we empower students to become curious readers, confident learners, creative thinkers, and responsible digital citizens.

  • The vision of the Midtown Media Center is to foster a school-wide culture where reading is celebrated, creativity is encouraged, and students are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. We aim to inspire lifelong learners by connecting students with stories, technology, collaboration, and hands-on opportunities that spark curiosity and imagination.

Mrs. Neal Midtown Elementary School

Mrs. Neal serves as the Library Media Specialist at Midtown Elementary School. Before becoming a librarian, she taught third grade for six years, where her passion for helping students discover a love of reading first began.

Mrs. Neal believes the library should be a place where every student can find books, experiences, and opportunities that spark curiosity and confidence. She loves creating engaging library experiences through themed lessons, technology integration, reading programs, podcasting, makerspace activities, and creative school-wide events that help bring learning to life.

Her goal is to create a library environment where students feel welcomed, inspired, and excited to explore new ideas every time they walk through the doors of the Midtown Media Center.
